The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

This film by Tim Burton is my favourite film of all time. It is also the film that got me very interested in stop motion. It is one of the reasons why I got interested in animation.

When I first watched this film as a child, I already love this film even if it felt a bit scary. I did not know what stop motion was, but I felt very attached to it and it never went out of my head.

As I grew older, I started to search about how this film was made, and I was shocked when I realised that every background, character, object is a tiny model on a very large table. I was fascinated by the entire project and how it was created, I wanted to create things that have a similar style.

I was super impressed that this film that looks so smooth was actually made frame by frame with physical models, which got me to like this film even more than before.

When I found out there was a new released film called Wendell & Wild on Netflix in 2022, which is a stop motion-animated film, it made me realise that such style of animation is not yet outdated. It made me hope that I will be able to learn stop motion-animation to create my animations.

I understand very well that stop motion-animation is a type of animation that takes a long time to make, and that I may face some difficulties while learning about it, but I really find this type of animation to be very unique that I would be willing to spend all the time needed in order to perfect it.
